MailStash guide

How to use temporary email safely

Temporary email is useful when the task is short, low-risk, and does not require long-term account recovery. This guide explains how to decide when a short-lived inbox is appropriate.

Use it for short-lived checks

A temporary inbox works best for test messages, product demos, newsletter previews, download confirmations, and other situations where you only need to read a message once.

Keep the page open

MailStash displays incoming messages on the same page where the address was generated. Keep that page open while waiting, then use Refresh inbox if a message is delayed.

Avoid important accounts

Do not use temporary email for financial services, healthcare portals, government accounts, business-critical logins, purchases, or password recovery. If an account matters later, use an email address you control permanently.

Read privacy notes

Temporary email reduces exposure of your primary inbox, but it is not a secure vault. Treat messages as short-term and avoid sending sensitive documents, private credentials, or payment information.

Use a new address when finished

When you are done with a task, let the inbox expire or press New address for a fresh session. This keeps unrelated checks separated and makes the workflow easier to understand.
